“Those with tenacity, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility are subject to burnout.” -Bryan Sexton, PhD
About half of my colleagues develop an almost instantaneous allergic reaction to the term “resiliency training,” while others seem to find great utility in the effort. Aside from the polarizing terminology, discussing how to build resiliency is something we can all find value in -- irrespective of whether we’re burned out, fatigued or deliriously happy. Like most things in life, context is key. So we turned to Dr. Bryan Sexton, an associate professor at Duke’s School of Medicine, to help us demystify the concept and leverage some proven techniques.
